It’s Still Flu Season

Keep practicing these tips to stay healthy.
  • Get the flu vaccine (if you haven’t already). Learn more.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Cover your mouth with your elbow when you cough or sneeze.

If you have the flu, stay home from school or work until 24 hours after your fever is gone. Get plenty of rest and drink fluids to help get better fast. Find these and more Flu Vaccine Facts here.

It’s contagious!

Flu germs start spreading a day before the first sniffle.

Free Flu Vaccine Clinics in Your Area

There’s still time to get the flu vaccine this season.

Simply visit the Alameda County Public Health Department online or call them at 510-267-3230 to get a list of free clinics in your area. And for a current map of flu cases nationwide, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Helpful Reminder
The flu vaccine is recommended for all kids (and adults!) age 6 months and older. For full protection, 2 doses may be required for children under age 9.

Pass the peas, not the flu.

A single cough can spread flu germs 6 feet.

Flu vaccination?

Yes, it’s pretty important.

It’s the best defense we’ve got against the flu.

  • We all stay healthy.
Grandparents and small children benefit most from fewer flu cases.
  • Students stay in school.
Fewer sick days means they can keep up with their studies.
  • Families save money.
No more missed work to take care of sick kids.

Cover your mouth!

Cough & sneeze into your elbow to help stop the spread of flu.
